This cinematic masterpiece doesn’t just pay homage to Film Noir, it is true to the genre in ways I can’t fully express. The shadow play, the high key lighting, the excruciatingly deliberate pacing, the sound design that felt like another character, the surreal sets that surrounded you in another world, and the masterfully distinct performances all came together with a script full of innuendo and symbolism. Mateo Garimberti presents a master class in filmmaking that sucks you in and transports you to a timeless era, and he was gracious enough to join us in the studio with his lead actor Javier and costume designer-turned-art director Virginia.
